Stuff I'm reading: Social Impact News and Trends
- What is Purchase Power? And why does it matter? Every time we shop, we vote with our wallets. Points of Light recently released research on civic engagement, and found that 41% of all adults and 59% of Gen Z have made buying decisions based on a company’s social responsibility. As leaders and changemakers, how can we improve the world through our own (or our organization's?) everyday purchases, too? Read the article to find out.
- On Poetry and Leadership - Can poetry really improve your leadership of your organization and engage your team in unexpected ways? Check out "On Poetry and Leadership" and read one leader's take on this.
- "Longtermism" is focusing your social change energy on long-term, systemic issues faced by the planet. But it can be hard to focus on the long-term future. Here's what one longtermist does to keep himself motivated to keep working on these big, daunting - but critical - issues.
